- <p> EXECUTION STAYED. Of Robert Alton Harris, 37, sentenced to
- die in the gas chamber this week for the murders of two teenage
- boys in 1978; in San Francisco. Federal Appeals Court Judge
- John Noonan ruled that Harris may not have got competent
- psychiatric help during his trial. He would have been the first
- person to be put to death in California in 23 years.
